“Yoga is about harmonizing oneself with the universe. It is the technology of aligning individual geometry with the cosmic, to achieve the highest level of perception and harmony.” – B.K.S Iyengar

Derived from the Sanskrit root “Yuj”, meaning “to join” or “to unite”, the word Yoga refers to a spiritual practice that originated in ancient India. This meditative practice applies physical postures (asana), breathing techniques (pranayama) life guidance (yama & niyama). Coupled with meditation, yoga facilitates inner harmony and

Yoga plays a significant role in integrative health and promotes spiritual, mental, and physical well-being. For mindful living, incorporating yoga and meditation into your daily life is wonderfully beneficial. If you’re struggling to find balance in a demanding life, you may not know how to fit yoga into your busy schedule. Unless you plan with this purpose in mind, you will have difficulty prioritising mindful living.

Consistency and Flexibility

Impactful yoga requires consistency, even if you can only commit to a few minutes a day. Yoga should not be a stressful task on your to-do list. Be flexible enough to miss a session if you need to, and be open to spending more time on it when your schedule allows. Fit yoga into your daily activities, whether you’re sitting down, taking a lunch break, or winding down for bed.

Manage your Time

Most of us are running against the clock day after day, with a perceived lack of time to focus on our own needs. Consider your schedule and see where you can fit in a yoga class or time slots for yoga, whether you wake up earlier or plan to be unavailable for an hour or two during the weekends. Make the most of the time you have and remember that you can improve focus with meditation, as well as increase your energy, vitality, and emotional resilience.

Digital Apps and Platforms

If you’re constantly on the go, there are numerous apps you can download and utilise. These apps can help you prioritize meditation, yoga, self-care, and mindfulness, regardless of your busy schedule. In addition to the affordable apps, you can also attend online yoga classes and watch yoga and meditation videos on YouTube. This can be done whenever you have some free time, from wherever you are. Some apps we recommend for this purpose:

Headspace  –  Your everyday mental health app
Strala – Yoga, Tai Chi, and Workouts for everyone
Asana Rebel  – Healthy lifestyle for everyone

Stay motivated on your journey to improved mental and spiritual wellness. You can do so by setting achievable goals that don’t overwhelm you. Yoga is all about mindfulness and regular yoga practice has an incredible effect on your mind and body. Making time for meditation is just as important. This can be as simple as taking time to do breathing or grounding exercises. In order to feel your best, you need to make time for your wellness.
